It only took getting covid for me to actually finish a book this year. No time

1.5. Gotta be honest, I hated this book, but I never had a chance here because, as established for me, I don't like characters who cheat. If they do then they've got to work hard to gain me back. And not only did these characters cheat but they did it with the creepiest, most unsettling men ever. Like, the gut-check on both of them was immediate uneasiness and then for these women to be like: yeah, I'm with a stable, attractive man but instead I'm gonna do... this, uh, yeah, it was a struggle to even finish this after that. I don't even feel bad for you because it's through your eyes I know that these men are fundamentally wrong and you're making these idiotic choices anyway. I wanted to rate this higher because the layers and themes of this book were good (and the writing itself) but I just hated the story so much that it feels disingenuous to (Goodreads two stars translates to 'it was ok' and... no). I didn't like it and putting the book down was a huge freaking relief.

Expected something different

I expected a deeper connection between the 3 women and a different ending. While this book intrigued me, I can’t give it more more stars since the ending left me unsatisfied, I wanted things to be more wrapped up. Also the characters kept making cringe worthy choices and Brittany’s characters in particular just seemed unbelievable to me

so uneven and just odd. I can see what the author was trying to do. She didn’t stick the landing…didn’t bring it home…didn’t make the donuts.
