One of my favorites…ever. No idea how many times I’ve read it, but it’s never enough

This was my first time reading through a Jane Austen novel. It was awesome. I can't wait to read more of her works.

After hearing for many years about the love a dear friend of mine had for this book, I finally found opportunity to read it. Mostly, it came automatically with my Google Books app on my new phone and I started to read it at the gym. After a brief hiatus about 90 pages in because I had to read some other books first... I picked it back up this week and could NOT put it down. I love the story of Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy and now I want to rewatch the movie (which I haven't seen in years and forgot about, thankfully because otherwise I don't think I would have enjoyed the book as much). This is a book that I would buy the "real" version of just to have on-hand, one of the few I would re-read. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that the last chapter for me kind of fell flat. I was truthfully kind of hoping for a wedding between Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy to round it out... but, it was still a great book.

I listened to this audiobook a few years ago, but I really don’t think I appreciated it nearly enough at the time. I understand now why this is such a beloved classic. Lizzy is such a badass in an era when female badassery was uncommon and generally unappreciated. I was so sad for it to end. I love the Lizzy-Mr. Darcy dynamic. I’ll definitely reread this, and that’s a rare find for me.

The Audible audiobook with Rosamund Pike as narrator was fantastic. However, there were moments when big things were happening that I kind of wished I’d been reading it myself just so I could read faster.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. A trifle of a book, but thoroughly entertaining.

As I continue my journey through classic novels I’ve never had the chance to read before, I finally read this beloved gem that’s essentially Real Housewives for the intellectually inclined. Austen delivers non-stop wit as she throws her characters into a ring of social climbing and romantic intrigue. It’s all the drama of your favorite reality show but with more thoughtful dialogue and a keen eye for the absurdities of society. Perfect for anyone who loves a good laugh and a sharp critique all rolled into one.

Reread the book after about 20 years (last read it in high school). Still an entertaining and fascinating book about the time period, social class and complicated relations.
