This was a super cute barbarian/caveman romance. It was definitely one of the better ones I've ever read.

I liked the general idea of this book, but I didn't like the execution. I liked the primitive setting and the tribe dynamics, but everything else was lacking.

If ever there was a book to "show, not tell" it should be a single viewpoint story about a woman in a primative society that doesn't know the language. The
grooming scene
? Could have been a HUGELY sexual tension moment if we had just been SHOWN what was happening.

I didn't like that she kept SAYING she was strong and independent, but she never DID anything to show that.

I got annoyed that she was so hungry up on cultural differences and assuming he should behave the way she wanted him to, even though there was someone there TELLING HER what those cultural differences were.

The
kidnapping subplot could have been a time to really pack an emotional punch, but instead it's over and done with in, what seems like, 15 minutes.

I knew when I saw the length of this book is would leave me wanting more. I do think that the general concept had promise, and I think in the hands of a better/more experienced author it could have been really great.

second read

idk why but this book makes me so emotional

~~~
first read
It wasn’t just a language barrier that was standing between them. They were from two completely different worlds. Even if she had the words to explain her point of view to him, he was never going to understand.
i always thought that i would miss things like the internet or coffee the most now i feel like i would DIE if i couldn't have decent conversations. this book made me depressed so unexpectedly, she was so alone and he didn't understand her but at the same time he was trying to understand her and my heart break for both of them
If you saw my review on two, the answer is I'll be finishing the series because this book went back to being awesome.
Again, I don't know what's going on with this series but at least this book is slightly better and more acceptable than the first one.
I'm done here anyway
Well written but not the trope for me.
The low-communication thing isn’t for me.
