Audiobook (All of my entries on The Story Graph are audiobooks.)
#2 in series (I started reading this series in September 2022. I am not committed to this series.)
Will I read other installments?Probably Not Maybe Definitely I don't know if I will commit because I think only three of the books are on audio.
Comparison to others in series:Not as good About the same Better I enjoyed the second installment in the series. Perveen is an appealing character. The scenes from Indian life in the 1920s are alluring.
The narrator was Sneha Mathan. Very good. No complaints.

I'm not much into reading mystery novels these days but I quite like this series. I think that what I really appreciate is the setting, both in terms of place and time. It is really interesting to get a glimpse into Indian society in the 1920s and see how such themes as colonialism, sexism, caste and religious differences are explored within the narration.
It is a very readable story and also quite gripping, I wanted to keep reading to find out how all the pieces would come together.
I look forward to reading the next installments and following Perveen's story.
