First of the Ray Flowers trilogy, this book by Jane A Adams is hard to pigeon hole into a specific genre, it is part crime, part ghost story, part history, and part romance and is her best work since her first book.
This is actually my favourite of her works so far, and I look forward the next book in the trilogy to see where she takes it.
it was also a bit longer than her other books, but that did not detract from the story, it rather gave it time to build to a relatively satisfying conclusion despite history never changing of course.

The plot is interesting but it could have been better executed. I liked Ray and Kitty. Seeing the past and present mixing together was interesting. There are a lot of characters and I kept forgetting who was who, perhaps because it was jumping around a lot from past to present and from one character to another. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, some questions left unanswered.
