Some parts were really good.
Others, not so much.

I really liked the Sci-Fi part of the story. The world building was great.
What I really struggled with was Simon. I never warmed up to him.
To quickly sum it up: If the world building hadn’t been as good as it was this really wouldn’t be more than a 2-star book fo me. Barely.

“Big Pink Bastard” and “Slippery Little Human” FTW. ♥️ The audiobook was fantastic.

I see other reviews that mention misgendering Mohrn, but their species only has one gender, so to them, “he” and “she” are just words that mean nothing.

This was an elaborately, convoluted, confusing slog. It was boring, too long, and repetitive. The contracts and laws... I give the author points for creativity, but this could have benefited from more editing and definitely shortening.  The narration was not good.  I finished the book only because I had gotten so far in that I became invested and wanted to know how it all played out.  There were some parts that were good, but overall, I did not truly enjoy this.

Content warning:. There's a lot of wrong pronouns being used.  We find out later that it doesn't bother the character in question, and the main character starts using the right pronouns.

Super cute love story.

Don't bother with this one.

Love interest is misgendered right to the end. Says they don't care because they are in love.

While some of the sex scenes are nicely written, none of the interesting scenes are describe in more than passing detail.

The set up has size difference, egg laying, there are two group sex situations, heck I'll toss breeding in.  And none of these get explored. Just a mention for plot reasons.

I will be nice and say i loved the side character Dr.Halooder, the 6 legged lizard alien who wears a mech. He is mine now.
