Up until chapter 25 I would've given the book a 3 star rating. There are already a lot of problems in my opinion, but they're tiny in comparison to the elephant in the room.
I just can't give a book that promotes capital punishment a better rating than 1 star. That's just not something I can tolerate.

Ok, now I'm a bit more level-headed. I just want to quickly point out that I think the representation, including the use of neopronouns, is stellar in this book, even better than in the first two parts of the series.

I'm sorry that that's not enough to change my rating. But I will continue looking out for the author, as I think their work is very interesting.

I liked the first one best, but this is my second favorite. I'm really pleased with how the series ended.

No! No, no, NO. I am NOT ready for the end. This can't be the last book!! I want MORE. I want to see what happens next. I want to watch where Aeland goes from here. I'd settle for spending hours with these characters as they do ordinary daily things, hear what they say to each other, just to be with them a little longer....

This book had everything in it that I loved in the first two, plus a little more. I adored Witchmark, and Miles remains the heart for me (he's just such a good, good man), but this book was telling the story of a different conflict. Grace's viewpoint in Stormsong was wonderful, and I loved being in her head, but the struggle that needed to happen in Aeland wasn't hers either.

Oh, Robin. You are terrific. This is your fight, and it has not been an easy one. You've had to be so strong.

May everyone have all the snacks and naps they need, and figure out how to heal this incredible world they inhabit. I love and miss them already.
