Karin Slaughter hits it out of the park yet again. the grief in this book is so visceral it hurts and is relatable. I found myself having to pause to cry and gather myself and then go back in.

I did this on audiobook but I'm pretty certain if I see it at my book store I'm buying it so I can read it again.

Well written with characters I liked. But man oh man was it a hard book to get through. What these characters went through is just awful and really challenging to read about, especially since the writing was so good. Almost too good, I felt I lived through the traumatic events. Some of the worst scenes are revisited/relived multiple times, I almost couldn't take it anymore. Really compelling characters though, which kept me going. Will be looking at more books by this author but not sure I can recommend this particular one given the traumatic plot.
