Again, I enjoyed it but not as much as the originals. I did like the college stuff though, but some of the plot threads were just ridiculous.

First of all, ELENA MAKES ME SO MAD!! This whole love triangle with her, Stefan, and Damon has gone on for way too long and I don't even know why I both to keep reading this series because I hate the main character so much!! I love Bonnie and I am so happy that there is FINALLY a man that is perfect for her. Didn't like the how the plot hinted that Elena might be made back into a Guardian again. I kinda wish she would drink the youth water and be with Stefan and call it the end of the series already. I'm sick of her ! Spin off with Bonnie, Meredith and Damon!!

Elena and friends are off to college. Hopefully, they can take a break from the paranormal upheaval that has marked their lives lately. Of course, that may be a bit much to expect, so it's a good thing they try to stay alert to new threats cropping up on campus. Students are disappearing, being attacked at night; but, who or what is behind the violence? Meanwhile, a secret about Elena's parents comes to light. Bonnie finally has a boyfriend, but is he all that he seems? Matt is happy to be invited to join a secret club, but something doesn't feel quite right. Vampire brothers Damon and Stefan will have to work together, in spite of their shared love for Elena, to keep everyone safe.

Okay, so this isn't Shakespeare. But it does have drama, romance, a love triangle, and a host of paranormal characters to keep things interesting. I find these books clip along nicely and I enjoy them. They're a nice break from reality. There is one more book in this installment of the series, The Hunters trilogy, but unfortunately our local library doesn't carry it. I think, though, having read so many of these, I'm ready to call it good and continue on to read other things. Like the television series, which I enjoyed but eventually also gave up on, the plot lines and problems do tend to circle around and sound similar after a while.

This was actually one of the better books in the series. I wasn't happy with the last one that the ghost writer did, but she seems to be getting a better stride now. I don't have anything incredible to say about it. It was a typical TVD book in a lot of ways. I like that Elena is at least owning up to her shit finally. And that Matt seemed to have gotten over her a bit more, that Stefan wasn't such a fucking whipped bitch and that Bonnie FINALLY found a boy. And that Bamon is never happening. Though I do want Delena so so so bad. Meh.
