The best one so far. Lancet gets better with each book.

I really enjoy the Jim Brodie series and have read all of the books so far. I enjoyed The Spy Across the Table, but it is probably my least favourite of the series. Some things stuck out that made me really wonder why they were included in the book.

For example, the scene in Ni-chome with the club host, Brodie and Noda felt more like a caricature than an authentic interaction. It didn't land for me. That was the most glaring example.

This book's pace runs quick like the other books and it brings the suspense. I appreciate Barry Lancet's notes on authenticity.

One of my most favorite things about the series is the celebration of cuisine, and the foodie scenes in this book did not disappoint, although I was disappointed with no Noda soba noodle slurping scene.
