A spicy fantasy book that could be the start of a great series!

Lexi is a half-vampire, half-human, and struggles with the loss of her father in the war. She meets Cole at a ball and they are instantly attracted to each other. Cole is the Prince of the dark fae realm and also half-half lycan. He feels the need to pursue her and realizes that she is his mate.

The story sets up the world and has some good spice between the characters

But I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped to and I’ve honestly have forgotten almost all of it

Was recommended this by my bestie. It was slow to start for me, but really picked up, and my jaw dropped at the end. I’ll definitely be continuing this series.

Needs editing badly, but was enjoyable

I normally would give fewer stars to a book with so much circular dialogue... Ex:We are going to that place to do that thing in that place where we are going to do that thing. Somehow, the strength in story building pushed through it for me enough that it didn't yuck my yum too much. I liked our main characters and the idea in my head of this whimsical estate with secret tunnels underneath. I wanted to be there...doing that thing in the place with them. Also, I'll just say.....what a game of thrones vibe at the end. Few books get me in my feels....I will be reading the next one.

The beginning was so slow and full of sexual tension. I honestly wasn’t sure if the story was going to progress into anything but I’m glad I continued reading. The book really picked up at the end! I can’t wait to see the outcome

Interesting Fae story. Not sure that I’ll read further.

I did not like the writing style as a lot of words were repeated every sentence.
And there’s the insta-love trope: not my favorite.

Won’t continue the series.

It was actually pretty good. I listened to this as a free audiobook and I always have pretty low expectations for the quality of those, but it wasn’t bad! The voice artist was good too, so that always helps.
Lots of types of creatures all living together through a war where humans are pretty much getting smashed. Different worlds to travel through, dragons, bit of romance… what more do you want!
