Genre: Contemporary romance, fiction
My summary: Evelyn St. James is a popular social media influencer who has realized she’s lost her spark. In pursuit of happiness, she returns to the last place she felt whole—at Lovelight Farms with Beckett Porter, the big-hearted farmer. Evelyn and Beckett first met and had a one night stand—out of character for both of them—and have awkwardly tried to find their way together since then.
My thoughts: This is the definition of a contemporary romance with lovable characters that makes you feel warm and cozy while you’re reading it. I fell in love with both Beckett and Evelyn in Lovelight Farms, so it was fun to read their book as the second in the series. It’s fun and witty, you can’t help but root for love to win in the end.

such a great addition to the series!!! this one had me wanting to just break down crying at several moments. i related to evie in many ways & honestly her inner monologue made me the most teary eyed. “did you find your happy?” HOW COULD YOU B.K.????? my heart is still feeling the ramifications of having to listen to beckett ask evie that question. SO GOOD!!! i’m super excited to continue this series!

i found my happy in beckett and evie's story.

i may have liked this book more than the first book. BUT! i really wish there was more... uhmph. the entire plot can be summarized as big ol' miscommunication. i wished there was more. that being said, it was still a very fun and cozy read.

i adored beckett porter and evelyn st. james so much. his grumpy to her sunshine was done so well.

their chemistry, tension and slow burn was crazy good, especially since they had already had a steamy two-night stand months prior.

Maybe this is what happy is supposed to be. A person, a place. A single moment in time.

the author depicted beckett's challenges with noise sensitivity and social anxiety with care and compassion. i loved how even though evie was wiling to help him navigate his challenges, he made the effort himself to work on them as well for himself.

i also really liked how even though evie struggled to redefine her vision of success and happiness because of extreme burnout – despite how long she worked in the content creation scene (~10 years) – she never gave up on finding her true happy and leaned on those closet to her.

also can i say how much i loved the residents of this small town?? they're all so funny and caring. my favorite scene was definitely the rowdy themed trivia night at the bar. it's safe to say, i love inglewild and their loud, but caring and charming, residents – i never wanted to leave!!

read if you like:

♡ grumpy x sunshine
♡ second chance (sorta)

A beautiful and sensual book! I loved Lovelight Farms and I loved In the Weeds. Usual poor communication trope which was very annoying, but it still made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Can’t wait to read Mixed Signals, following Layla.
