Adorable and fluffy. The FMC is conveniently and frustratingly dense from time to time.

A nice listen for doing chores around the house. The narrator did a fabulous job.

This was a great feelgood read while being emptyheaded myself. 🤩😅 Just enough plot and character intrique to keep me hooked (and enough to deepdive into analysis if I felt like it), but I didn't need to make an effort to follow the plot. Very enjoyable! Bonus points because there are multiple possible characters subtly hinted for potential sequel romances. I'll be sure to grab the next book in this series as well!

It was cute and cheesy but a tolerable amount of cheese.
I could see how all Emily’s second guessing and over complicating things would be annoying but I kind of related. Simon’s extreme grumpiness was over the top and the change from grumpy to lovey was not gradual at all but
overall it was a nice story and an easy read

Come for the low-stakes enemies to lovers, stay for the supportive family (both blood and found).

There were so many things I loved about this book, but if I had to be honest, I loved Simon's character the most. I mean, a cute English teacher who organizes Renaissance faires and plays the role of a charming, swashbuckling pirate? The resident tsundere who's secretly a romantic nerd at heart that engages your literary banter and quotes Shakespeare sonnets like the back of his hand? There's no wonder why he had my heart the entire time I was reading this.

This was adorable. It took me a little to get into it, but once it got going I was sucked in. I loved all the characters - the protagonist, the love interest and the glorious array of supportive, fleshed-out side characters. Just lovely.

It wasn’t overly fluffy, and dealt with heavy themes amidst the romance. As per usual I skimmed the
explicit sexual content
as that is really, REALLY not my thing. The dynamic of the romance was wonderful though and I loved how both characters had growth both in the context of the relationship as well as personally. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
