Dickie and Edwina Mountbatten were such interesting people. I already found myself interested in Dickie's life thanks to The Crown, but when I heard about this book I knew I had to read it. It split its focus very well, going on about Edwina's many affairs thanks to their open marriage, some of Dickie's affairs, and the change in their relationship as Dickie's career changed. It was an enjoyable read that gave a great overview of their lives. Personally, I found the ending with accusations of Dickie's sexuality and possible pedophilic tendencies a little ridiculous. I don't discount them entirely, obviously, but they struck me as a smear campaign targeted at him. I'm glad the author explored it rather than brushed it under the rug, but it just didn't fit how Dickie was portrayed throughout the biography.
