At it’s core, there is an interesting and mysterious story here, but it goes on for too long saying nothing. To be honest, I (begrudgingly) made it to 180 pages and then I started speed reading and skipping just to get to the resolution (another 200 pages to the end!!)

A fun and quick read, though the main character’s monologues sometimes felt a bit much. Also I didn’t think anyone who was more than two dimensional was likable. And every major character was white, I don’t understand readers who are is saying this book is diverse.

This book was very twee, and had a character driven story. There’s a lot underneath the surface of the book, and an unsettling feeling permeates the book providing a steady pace to a thrilling finish.
