Struggle to get through this one. The story was predictable and the main character made so many poor choices and seemed so dumb. I kinda over that narrative

Whew…where to start with this one?

Brief summary: Leo and Alice move into suburban London, in a lovely gated community with lovely, but guarded neighbors. Alice soon discovers the cause of the neighbors edge, a murder has occurred —in their lovely dream home. As the story unravels, Alice discovers the people closest to her are holding tight to their secrets and she’s determined to get to the bottom of them, even if it means risking her own sanity and safety.

Overall, the book kept my attention. Alice doesn’t start off annoying but by the end, she’s downright god-awful. The decisions she makes and the secrets SHE continues to keep, after judging everyone around her for being untruthful, are mind-boggling. We’re introduced to quite a few people who we think might be relevant but then aren’t, so why?? The ending was a twist. I didn’t figure it out until right before Alice, which I’m kind of ashamed to admit since she’s all over the place. Then it becomes predictable pretty fast and wraps up with Alice still fumbling with self-awareness and oblivious to her actions.

I rated it a 3 since GR doesn’t let you round up by .5. Not my favorite but still entertaining.
