πŸ›€πŸ·What's your favourite way to unwind away from the kids? πŸ·πŸ›€

Mrs Large just wants five minutes away from her children to relax, so she takes herself off for a bubble bath and breakfast. However, this quickly becomes obvious Mrs Large won't get an inkling of peace!

This book is laugh out loud funny and relatable for mothers and children alike. As a mother who definitely does not get that five minutes peace, this book had me in stitches. It's the perfect book for a bedtime story for a toddler, or even a funny gift for a mother. Jill Murphy did a brilliant job of making the stressed out mother into a funny and treasured family life tale.

My daughter was giggling along with me as she definitely acts like the children in this book. Recommended addition for your little ones bookcase.

I don't know where my copy has gone! I simply can't have thrown it out! Did it get worn out?My first meeting of an adorable great niece (who amazingly survived meningitis)& I ignored her until I reread her copy of this wonderful book!

Out of all the great books I read to my children this was my favourite. Beautifully illustrated, the text is on two levels, so that adults can enjoy a wry smile while reading it to their youngsters.

Just can't recommend highly enough!

What a mother does for just 5 minutes' peace... The baby wasn't listening, but I had to keep reading anyway!

About a hundred times so far I've decided to give this book away to one of the various kids in my life. And a hundred times I sat down to read the book first, and realized there's no way I can let this leave my house! Sorry, kiddos. Guess you'll have to come over so we can read it together. The story is adorable and relatable both for kids and their harried parents. The pictures are beyond cute. Every detail is perfect, from the baby's hair and the kids' sweet innocence to Mama Large's facial expressions as she copes with being hounded by her little ones 24/7. Just too cute.

A five minute read that holds up even better when reading it as an adult. I may have just giggled hysterically through the entire thing. :)

I didn't really like five minutes' peace. It just seemed like the mother wanted to get away from her children throughout the entire story. She became increasingly frustrated with them and didn't attempt to hide it. In the end, Mrs. Large never did get her five minutes away. This book didn't send a good vibe... Not my favorite for sure.

This is a cute children’s book about a Mama elephant who just wants five minutes away from her three rambunctious kids to have some time to herself. Despite her efforts, her kids do not relent.

Did I read this to finish my 2019 reading challenge? Possibly... but also because since I have been home for the holidays my family quoted from this book multiple times and it made me wonder if other people do that or if we are just weird... do other families quote from picture books?
