I really really really did not enjoy this book. I gave 2 stars because I finished it, and I could see so much promise with the plot... but no. No. I’m taking this to my local used book store and selling it, because I don’t want to even see it on my bookshelf.

This one was a bit slow to start for me. The early reveal was nice in that it made me question where the story could go so wasn’t entirely certain what would happen. I thought I had it figured out, but a great twist with a solid conclusion. Really ended up enjoying this one.

I loved this book! Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with thrillers - they either seem like they are repeating the same things I’ve seen over and over or they are going the opposite direction with such over the top and outlandish resolutions that I can’t buy into it.

In Before She Knew Him, Swanson doesn’t do either. At the start, I thought I could see where things were going but I was really enjoying the story so was along for the ride anyway. But then he took a sharp right turn and I loved the way it turned some common tropes upside down. Thoroughly enjoyed this ride and the audiobook narration was great too!
