A lovely quiet little book of honest, simple drawings. Some gorgeous little moments that speak so loudly; a look away, a rub of an eye, silence.
The pacing is wonderful, slowly building to a crescendo then fade out. The colors separate the different times in the narrative between the present and two flash backs.

I liked this- it was a fairly quick read, but with a lot there to think about. Really enjoyed the artwork.

I loved this even though it's super short, I loved how it weaved the three parts of his life, I loved the sumo in it, it had such a sweet ending, just a nice little story

I think this is uncommonly good. A lot to say, interesting art, resonating themes with interesting characters.

I really liked this book. Pham's use of color to delineate timelines was striking and efficient. The text and graphics were spare, but they lent themselves well to the overall atmosphere of the book - which to me was quiet and solemn.
