Aku benar-benar tercengang klubnya banyak banget!

I've watched the anime of Hyouka and was really captivated by each case and character.

The books have only been recently published in my country. I immediately jump to the 3rd book in the series because it was my most favorite case from, apparently, 6 books.

I already knew how the story goes but it's nice to read it and remember what I've watched a long time ago.

definitely the most complex mystery so far, and I loved getting the perspective of all 4 protagonists!!! one thing I noticed is that the dialogue and language used in these books actually… *sound* like what a teenager would say?? no metaphors and no quirky language because oh-i-am-not-like-the-other-girls and it’s so refreshing compared to most western YA.

I also desperately need to rewatch this arc on the anime because ngl I was a bit lost at times lmao (although kyoani included some new scenes that weren’t in the book, surprisingly)

i still cant believe that Hyouka single handedly made me read again and honestly this series has become a sort of comfort place for me these past weeks <3 onto book 4, i guess?

Yah begitulah. Kusuka.

Also finished this weeks ago. This is probably my favourite so far. The mystery element is not too strong and barely moves the story forward, but the intention behind it is what makes this shine.

Here we finally reach the much-awaited cultural festival and the Classics Club deal with a big problem that might cost them a lot of money in the long run. Will solving a mystery help with drumming up interest on their club and boost Hyouka sales? Read on to find out! ;)

But what I really loved about this volume is that feeling of mediocrity that ties the character narratives together. From Satoshi's desire to best Kotarou on his own game to Ibara's insecurities about her work in manga. What really stayed with me is how Ibara's manga club senpai resented a groundbreaking doujinshi work because it was drawn by someone who didn't even feel anything for manga or doujinshi. The distance between passion and actual skills (and yes, talent even though I hate that word) is one not easily breached and the characters facing the fact that they weren't (as yet) good enough is both heartbreaking and comforting.
