I honestly don’t know how she does it! They keep getting BETTER AND BETTER! And that is truly a rare thing for a series so well done to such an amazing author!
If it’s one thing Mia has it is HEART!
I truly LOVE this Wholesome and Pure series and the books never fail to make me cry! 😭😭😭 cry tears of joy because this book is full of hope and dreams and passion and love and friendship and all the good things!!!!
I mean the advice and message the book conveys is just beautiful because the characters are so amazing and stand up against injustice and are brave enough to speak their truth!
This series is for EVERYONE and I cannot wait to read the 5th book in the series!!!
This series NEEDS to be a tv show or a graphic novel!
10/10 would recommend 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I've loved this series since the first book came out and I'm always excited for a new installment in Mia's story. This is such a fun series that also tackles serious topics like xenophobia, undocumented immigrants, and racism, sexism and consent, and classism. But it never feels too weighed-down by these heavy and difficult subjects. Kelly Yang folds these themes into the story with care and precision.
So much of these books revolves around food as Mia's friends, Jason and Hank, run a restaurant together. I read this book while eating a delicious egg tart and it was a perfect pairing.
While this isn't my favourite in the series, it's the way the books all complement each other that I really love.
