"But the dream of something unlikely has its own special name. We call it hope."

What a perfect book to finish on Valentine's Day!

The Orange Girl is told as a letter from father to son. The son is reading the letter long after his father's death and is adding his own commentary.

I loved this format! Although I would suggested reading this book in one sitting or at least in one day if possible. Because it is one long letter, there were no chapter breaks which made it difficult for me to get back into the story after stopping.

I loved working through the clues of figuring out who the Orange Girl was and why she kept appearing and disappearing.

The Orange Girl is a quick, yet emotional read about how love makes life worth living.

This is the best book of all time for me! I’ve read it twice now and it amazed me again. There’s so much depth and philosophy and emotions that I think one could discover new aspects every time one reads it again. What makes the storytelling even better is perhaps that it’s told with the voice of a child. There’s also a constant metadiscourse on the story itself, which takes away the tension from one moment with the help of humour, to then again fill you with astonishment in the next sentence.

2,8/5⭐️ This is my second Gorder read. Compared to the buzz around it, the story was quite underwhelming.

A beautiful book that captures a compelling love story exploring how fate unfolds and how people can impact our life in a positive way. It also addresses
the loss of a parent
and the book is basically a long letter from a father to his son.
