Brief review:
This is a poetry book for children. I really enjoyed this book, it is full of very cute and fun halloween themed poems. All the poems were very different and original, and each one had great illustrations to go along with them. The poems were all Halloween themed without being too frighting so children of all ages could enjoy them. I think children will like the fun pictures and the clever rhymes. I think this book could be better if it stated on the cover that it was a collection of poems. I didn't know this until I started reading, and it may be something that is confusing to young readers.

This book could be used as an introduction to poetry during language arts for lower elementary grades. It does not give many different kinds of poems that are difficult, mainly just simple rhyming poems. It would be quite easy to have students write poems about there favorite parts of Halloween.
Comprehension questions:
1: Why were the witches riding mops instead of brooms?
Answer: It was raining outside. Riding brooms would make no sense, mops make more sense because they are used to soak up water.
2: What happens when you bathe from dusk till dawn?
Answer: You might disappear! If you scrub and scrub for hours on end you may disappear, just like how if you scrub and scrub at a stain it will eventually disappear.
Wonders:
1: Does a vampire make a good mommy, or just a good daddy?
2: Why isn't Hallow's eve celebrated like Christmas eve?
