I absolutely loved this book, and the beautiful connection of music to Grace's life weaved throughout.

More than the first half of the book is slow going. Grace is just living her life and isn't really present. It is not until Nadina and Mr. Williams are introduced that the style of developing the characters changed into more interesting writing.

The idea of this book was cute but I just wasn't in to it. It felt too light and I didn't get invested in the characters enough. I found the main character to be quite sad and I did not care for the fact that she based so much of her happiness on a man that didn't love her back.

BLECH. Missing details and I couldn’t wait for this to end. It was so promising but... BLECH.

After owning this book for 4+ years, I FINALLY read it and I’m so happy I waited! I really do think some books find us at just the right time. After reading “Musical Chairs” by Amy Poeppel and “The Violin Conspiracy” by Brendan Slocumb, I have been increasingly open to and interested in reading about classical musicians. This book cemented that interest. I was absolutely fascinated by the process of building and restoring stringed instruments and so so appreciative that the author described this in such depth. The friendship storyline was also excellent and the flashbacks to college were necessary and provided insight. The only thing I didn’t love was the “romance” the book was built around, but I understand its purpose in the overall arc. Highly recommend to music lovers!

This was a pleasant little book! I really didn’t know anything about it going in but I loved the characters, the musical references, and the unexpected twists and turns that the story took. It was a lovely read that I’ll think back on later!

I was expecting this to be a light frothy chick lit kind of book. Although the story line would have you believe that it came across as much more substantive. Characters that would seem one dimensional were fleshed out and even parts about building a cello (which I didn't understand) were still beautiful. I really enjoyed this boo.k
