Series: Seth and Laura #2

Seth and Laura are back in this second instalment of their story. They have come far from their pasts in California, he now working for the Irish mobsters, Cross Brothers, while she works as a nurse in an institution which deals with mental health. She's still conflicted about Seth, while he wants to teach Laura a lesson for breaking his heart, leaving him, and stealing from him. What will it be?

It starts with a prologue in Laura's voice, how Seth moved to East Coast after her, how he came to be associated with the Cross Brothers, how she met Beth from the Irresistible Attraction trilogy. It is narrated in the first person with chapters alternating between him and her. I always wanted to read this story which went on in the background of the aforementioned trilogy. And this is as exciting as that one was.

Marcus the evil rival is back on the scene. And Laura because of her job somehow is in the middle of it. She's as fearful as she was before, of going back to Seth's way of life. But she can't stop loving him too. And it isn't like she escaped that way of life, her choice of the profession led her to be right in the midst of it. Seth is still shattered because of Laura running away from him and also because she doesn't seem to need him, still.

Compared to all the other books I have read by Willow Winters, this has one of the strongest female protagonists in Laura. She doesn't let anything get her down. And also one of the sweetest love stories, though that may be because Seth and Laura had a history. But she has a weakness too. She still has nightmares about her best friend Cami and needs help for her peace of mind. And because of that, she becomes more entangled than ever on the web that is their lives. But there is danger lurking too, in the form of Officer Walsh... And of course, Marcus. Is the Officer with them, or against them? And what happens, in the end, is something that shouldn't have happened… Why do you do this Ms. [a:Willow Winters|15289816|Willow Winters|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1493487378p2/15289816.jpg]. Why!?! Yep, she left us hanging in there, in a horrible, horrible cliff-hanger. January is too far away…

A book that Laura really liked, and cried over.

You can find my review of the first book in the series, [b:Hard to Love|47890742|Hard to Love|W. Winters|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1566576140l/47890742._SY75_.jpg|70860563], here.

I loved the Part 2 of Seth and Laura. I enjoy jumping in and riding the coaster of emotions in Willow's stories. They are always powerful and they rest on my heart forever. There is a special connection between Seth and Laura. Something that pulls them together in a bond that can not be broken even though they go through alot of pain.

I read this book on hoopla and it had a different beginning then the sneak peak at the end of the first book. It also had a prologue. With that being said the writing in this book is significantly better than the first but it was hard to follow. This book definitely should not be three books. It’s choppy and stops abruptly.
I’m still confused by the overall story, we finally learned about the secret Seth was keeping from Laura but I still don’t really understand why Seth is on the east coast, who Marcus is and what all the patients Laura takes care of have to do with anything. Also how does Seth’s past with Laura’s father and Fletcher have to do with anything going on?

Wow. WOW! Desperate to Touch is sexy, full of action and the perfect continuation of Hard to Love. Seth and Laura’s story continues with amazing chemistry and so much more emotion and a connection between the two characters that I felt jumped right off the pages. This second chance romance has left me on the edge of my seat, just waiting for more!!

5 FLAMING STARS

DESPERATE TO TOUCH by W.Winters has left me with no words... okay I’ve had lots of words, just not words I put in here... so I’ve sat on it pondering words and life and now I must express some of what I feel.

I’m obsessed with this book world to no end, these characters are full of life and the passion and emotion between them can set you on fire. Seth and Laura’s second chance story continues from HARD TO LOVE, it’s set in the present and the passion and lust filled danger and suspense writing that Willow Winters has mastered will leave you intoxicated and addicted- from the start to the end I want more, more and more! This is the theme of my life in this book world. More is never enough!!

Alas, I was hoping for a conclusion to their story but was rewarded (apparently I enjoy self torture) with the promise of more to come (yassss!!)... getting glimpses of the Cross brothers and the questionable Marcus and Officer Walsh leaves me feeling like I’m trapped in a a great crime detective book- just with the bonus of all the steamy and incredibly sexy scenes. Again, the emotional content intensifies this as this book should come with a “HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE” Warning. If you thought you were #slayedbyseth in Hard To Love, you are not prepared for Desperate To Touch. #ifelldownarabbitholeandcantfindmywayout #leavemeinmymercilessworld #whenidietakemetothecrossbrothers

Did I mention 5 FLAMING HOTTT STARS

Good grief

Can Seth and Laura not have peace and just love each other! The world always seems to knock them down and keep them in constant turmoil. This series is definitely angst filled. A must read book and series.
