This isn’t life changing but it’s fun and easy to enjoy & narrated by Nicola Coughlan for the audiobook lovers

Not sure why I even bothered. The plot was all over the place, and felt like it needed to be more than one book. Also, I’m done with the “surprise endings” totally mind f-ing you into scenarios where OH THE MAIN CHARACTER IS NOW DEAD IN ALMOST A FLIPPANT ASIDE. Or HEY THIS CHARACTER YOUVE KNOWN FOR TWO BOOKS IS ACTUALLY SOMEONE ELSE COMPLETELY. I appreciate a good shocker, but this is not well done. Character development is at zero. Won’t be reading the third.

I could hardly put this book down. It hooked me right from the beginning, and just when I thought I had the plot all figured out, there’d be a surprising twist. The writing was witty and immersive, and the author did a great job of weaving in important social commentary on transphobia and misogyny. If you need a book about powerful women being powerful, you can't go wrong with this one!

I wasn't entirely sure that the firestorm that was Her Majesty's Royal Coven could have a successful sequel. That book was such a unique and wonderful addition to the fantasy, urban paranormal, witchy genre that it would be hard to really follow it up well.

And there were a few things that were irritating with book 2... but they were alllll tied up by the end and had a purpose. I literally looked at my husband two chapters before the end and said "this doesn't feel like a book 2... it feels like an ending..."

And then it actually ended. With a shocker that was as unexpected as the first book's ending.

Were there slow areas? Yes.

Were there areas that were a little odd for character development and went a little off the rails? Yes.

Were they absolutely worth the ending? 100%

I wish book 3 were already out. Not sure I can wait!

What just happened! The twist at the end totally blind sided me. I enjoyed this book, but felt it wasn’t quite as good as the first one until the last 10%. Then it took a major turn and now I need to know what happens next.
