One of the best science fiction/fantasy books I have read. The ending was not my favorite, but it does push me to read the next one immediately - so I suppose it was effective!

I was honestly so confused why this gets such a high rating when the world building is shit. Then I got to the end, where theres a glossary, a mini essay, a background on the characters, and explanation of the names. Everything (except for the explanation of the names) can be read before you start the book. I think that stuff should be put in the front, bc I was very lost for nearly the entire book. Theres practically no explanation for most everything in this book (which for a fantasy novel, is just shitty for an author to do). But at the end, nearly all of my questions/confusions were answered by the extra stuff at the end. Quite annoying, but I can forgive the author bc she writes so well otherwise.

This book is funny and very interesting (necromancers in space!!) I like the mystery element and the fact that they're in an old mansion, but I DO wish that we were given a map of the house, bc I could not piece all the rooms together.

I loved the main character, Gideon. Seeing her and Harrow interact is enrapturing. I also really like nearly all of the other characters.
Spoiler Tho I gotta say, whenever anyone would die (and yeah, even Gideon) I didnt cry. I wasnt even close. I was just shocked (except for Gideon, hers I saw coming bc duh... how else would they defeat that Lyctor???). So maybe it was the fact that Gideon didnt feel sad... in any case, tho I did like the characters, I wasnt super attached to them

This book was CRAAAZZZZZYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Everything from the characters (especially Gideon just being the best lol) to the sword fighting to the necromancy and to the just pure insanity, I loved this book!

It’s crazy how much detail there was to the whole necromancy system and while maybe it was too detailed for me to understand, it was still amazing!

The emotional rollercoaster that was the 2nd half of the book was a ride I’m never going to forget.

Can’t wait to read the sequels cause after the ending, I NEED MORE!!!!!
