5 amazing stars, I absolutely loved this one, had tears running down my face at the end, happy and sad tears at the same time. Tiffany Reisz is an amazing story teller, if someone had told me what her series was about before delving in, I would have said no way, totally not my cuppa tea, but I'm absolutely loving it. Loved Griffin and Michaels story too.

The Angel is the second book in The Original Sinners series by author Tiffany Reisz.
Let me start by saying that I enjoyed the first book titled The Siren. It surprised me and took me so far out of my comfort zone that I was thrilled to have enjoyed that ride. When I started reading The Angel though, I was having a hard time getting into that mindset again. It was dark, edgy and cringe worthy at times. Certain scenes in this book had me picking my jaw up off the floor with shock. I think the shock value is what made me give this book a higher rating than what I normally would. After reading countless romance and BDSM books that are out in the book market today, this one blows them out of the water. When a story can still shock me after many years of reading them, then the book definitely deserves the higher rating -- whether I thoroughly enjoyed the book or not.
I think the main problem I had with this book was Nora for me. I just couldn't connect with her like I did in the previous book. I am not sure exactly why, but again it could have been my mindset at the time of reading. The writing was amazing and the author did not disappoint with her effortless skill. Author Tiffany Reisz will bring it all out in a book and most likely when we don't expect it. I did enjoy the character of Michael. Soren is still a character I can't bring myself to love. He is creepy and still on my perv radar.
Overall, the book was amazing with writing and shock value. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into our main character of Nora. I am hoping whatever it was that bugged me in this book will resolve itself so I can enjoy the next book in the series like I did the first one.

You can read my review of THE SIREN, book one in the Original Sinners series, HERE.
WIN THE ANGEL AT BOOK BRATS.
If you haven’t read THE SIREN by Tiffany Reisz, I have two pieces of advice. One, go read THE SIREN right now before I skin you alike. Two, don’t read this review. Or read this review at your own risk.
THE ANGEL picks up several months after THE SIREN, with Wesley still out of Nora’s life, Nora back with Soren, and Zach returned to his wife (and pretty much out of the story picture from now on). With Soren under investigation for a promotion, and by an enterprising newspaper reporter desperate to uncover clues for a story that might very well make her career.
In this episode of The Original Sinners, somehow the story expands from a taut erotica into a mixture of BDSM and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I didn’t know it was possible to make this series any more exciting and delicious than it already is. Adding in a thriller element to the torrid affairs of writer, submissive, and Dominatrix Nora only serves to ratchet up the tension and the need to read this story as quickly as possible.
THE ANGEL returns teenage Michael to the picture, the so-called Angel in the title, along with playboy Griffin in a side plot that kept me needing more and more. Nora’s romances with the men in her life became less of the story as we added Michael and Griffin’s stories to the mix. Although he eventually plays a major role in the story – a role that drastically changes the direction of the story towards the end – I really did miss Wesley’s presence in the novel. I love his vanilla and naïve nature in this story of sex, kink, and lies. Oh, and did I mention the mystery? THE MYSTERY!
Yes, everyone, there is a murder mystery in here. Sort of. More of an overarching mystery of lies, drama, and secrets to be exact. But the connecting threat in all of this is the romantic connections between these characters, or at least the sexual connections. Nora’s relationship with Soren in the post-Wesley world hooked me, even though I am not a big fan of Soren and his machinations, was all the drama I could have hoped for.
This series is not for everyone, but if you loved THE SIREN, then trust me, THE ANGEL is going to be the sequel you have dreamed about and desired. This is the series that deserves FIFTY SHADES OF GREY’s massive success. It has the heart, the soul, the prose, the sex, and the real BDSM that FIFTY SHADES claims to possess. This is the series that has the potential to blow FIFTY SHADES out of the water. I just hope it one day it is successful as Tiffany Reisz’s amazing series deserves.
And let's just say I cannot wait for book three.
VERDICT: It’s epic. Awesome. Amazing. Basically, if you are not reading this series, you need to think about your life and your choices. Right now.

This series continues to surprise me. Yes, it's about a former dominatrix who's also a famous erotica writer and a priest who's secretly a major player in an underground sex club, but there's such heart to these books. I think I like it for the same reason I like the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, people so damaged they think they're irredeemable, finding redemption through love. In this one the saved are a journalist with a family tragedy in her past and a teenage boy learning to accept who he is.

Let me just start with an image: Griffin, the kinky trust fund playboy, skipping through his mansion, wearing only Doc Marten boots and a kilt. Then he sits on the bed with his legs wide open. Sure enough, he's wearing his kilt in true Scottish fashion. He was a stitch-in-the-gut riot and an unexpected enjoyment. An example of his attitude is his directions to the kitchen. "...down the fuck-off big stairs in the middle, left at that stupid marble whatever that I want to get rid of but Mom would kill me if I did, past the dining room with the anal table, and the kitchen’s on the right." “The anal table?” Michael had asked. “Perfect height for anal sex..." Even his interactions with his butler were unforgettable. On a more somber note, there's a lot of Soren and Kingsley history revealed in this book. I knew the pair of them were conniving, but Soren's manipulations are without bounds (figuratively, of course). The ending with the reporter is ingenious. I've harbored an unhealthy love for Soren since the Seven Day Loan, but the cliffhanger brought me to my Soren-worshipping knees. Then there's Nora, more sexual, wicked, and brilliant than ever. TR has truly devised a masterful mind in her character. As intimidating and unmoral as she seems, she is equally passionate in her love and loyalty. I adore her. Kudos to TR for inventing such original and powerfully convincing anti-heroes. Note: Before starting this book, I recommend reading the preceding novels, in addition to these short stories: Little Red Riding Crop and Griffin in Wonderland.
