Soy fan de la saga y cómo me paso con los anteriores, siento que me completa un montón la historia de las películas, además la lectura fue súper ágil.

Entertaining. Given the difficulty of some of the vocabulary, and the switching back and forth between second and third person, I'd give this to 5th grade and up.

I felt like the story was probably cute for kids, but kind of inconsistent. So Han and Leia are too "mushy" but Leia kissing her brother is fine to describe in detail? Ok. Interesting stories were added throughout and there were instructions for kids to help become a Jedi. I felt like the lessons fell flat, even for kids. Honestly, more lessons with actual meat to them would have made this more worthwhile.

The audiobook was interesting. Lots of sound effects and Lando has a southern accent.

This book is written as if you are reading it to learn how to be a Jedi and it puts you in Luke Skywalker's shoes. Everything that happens to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back is written as if it happens to you. Each chapter begins with an exercise to practice to develop your Jedi skills. I found this writing style and pace pretty distracting/annoying at first. Eventually I got used to it and accepted it. That being said, the new retellings of both A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are not written as if you are Luke Skywalker, s this book feels like it doesn't fit with the other two retellings.

I laughed a few times, mainly at his descriptions, but the second person narrative was annoying as heck.

I actually loved this so much - I took it from the library on a whim and read it in an hour, but it was so fun. If you like fairy tales, and self-aware books, and those books with instructions every once in a while so you learn something, and especially if you pretended you were a Jedi as a kid, this is for you. Giowitz retells the Empire Strikes Back with lyrical, story-like language, genuinely funny asides to the reader, and surprising wisdom and empathy. And the asides where he teaches you to meditate and control your emotions disguised as Jedi training are interesting and accessible. All in all, I loved it. It is very middle-grade, though - I didn't find this a bad quality, but tastes vary.

One of the best Star Wars books I've ever read. If you were ever interested in feasibly being a Jedi IRL, this book is for you! The only disclaimer I would say is that the iconic Han and Leia romance in this book is purposely skipped over by this author, who would prefer to focus on the Jedi path of Luke and Yoda. I myself being a HUGE Han and Leia fan was unimpressed, but surprisingly the Jedi content made up for this great loss.

My final thoughts are: thank you, Adam Gidwitz, for showing the world that everyone can be a Jedi. However, I would like to see a little more of the Han and Leia side of this story, since their story arc makes up more than half of the movie. :)

So. This book was done in the second person. There are very very few books that have taken this point of view and was actually successful at it. Sadly this one isn't one of those books.

I understand that this is a book for younger children but I feel like that shouldn't dumb down the quality of the story. It was pretty difficult to get into the story whenever the second person popped up and it pretty much sucked that some events were hastily sped through.

The first book of the 3 retellings was certainly better.
