Love and passion

I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to read about two mature women who fall in love and lust. They have a very passionate relationship. Maggie was very good at reading Tamsyn and understanding her needs. I am glad that Tamsyn made her brave decision. A wonderful story.

Tried reading it and just wasn’t feeling it, couldn’t connect to the story. This is one of my favorite tropes but I just couldn’t get into it. Only got 1/5 into it but I kept thinking that there are so many other books that are better that I can read. Might go back to it later at some point

3.75* This book has celebrity-finds-love + holiday fling + coming out of the closet tropes all rolled into one. This time it's Tamsyn, an accomplished actress in her early 50's, who meets Maggie, a fairly popular author, while on break in Norfolk. There's instant attraction between the two. Problem is, Tamsyn in very deeply in the closet - almost to Narnia, as the character Maggie described.
This book is sweet and sexy but also deals with several social issues such as coming out, ageism, and sexism. Tamsyn's fears about her career if she does come out of the closet, are real. Her best friend had a bad experience many years ago. Maggie's also a wonderful character. She has her own successful career and quite confident in her sexuality. Amidst burnout and writer's block, she is trying to figure out the direction she wants her career to go. They each have to navigate their personal issues before deciding to go through with their relationship.
