This was slow moving for me at first but I have not been moved to tears from a book in a long time. A love story on more than one level. A woman and man but also a story of how one's love can extend to a woman with a child (not her own).

And her writing just resonated in the last 1/3 of the novel.

My favorite "a real life doesn't mean getting what you want; the achievement, the privilege, too, is knowing what you love.

But getting what you love? Having what you love love you back? Oh, my friend, it's miracle;your one tiny life's head-on collision with divinity."

Well that was a wild ride. Definitely a few turns that I did not expect and I loved this book. The characters were wonderful and I could feel my heart breaking and rejoicing for them in lock step. The writing here is very poetic as well. Can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.

The book was good. Do not listen to this on on Audible, worst quality I’ve ever heard!

This book is a cute love story. And not the love story you'll be expecting in the least. I loved, Loved this book. It was sweet and definitely tugged at my heartstrings. I read this book a while ago and then went out and bought the sequel, but I haven't yet read it. I hope it's everything this book was. This will not be a book you regret reading.

Such a wonderful book! The author is a brilliant storyteller, and engages all your senses in creating a story you can't put down. The writing is beautiful, the characters feel like your friends, and the plot draws you in without being too much. Highly would recommend!

Have you ever read a book that was so warm and tender it felt like you were wrapped up in a big warm blanket with a cup of tea? Love Walked In was that book for me. I truly loved watching the characters' disparate lives come together and mesh and evolve.

When Martin Grace walks into a hip Philadelphia coffee shop, Cornelia Brown's life changes forever... But not in the ways you'd expect. We soon meet her counterpart, Clare, a young girl of 11 afraid of her mother's erratic behavior and with no one else to turn to.

The characters, Cordelia and Clare, were lovable and quirky and full of spirit. The men, in spite of their universal good looks, paled by comparison. I more or less guessed where the story was headed. But it didn't stop me from enjoying the journey. I was rooting for Clare the whole way and couldn't help but hope things would work out for Teo and Cornelia. The movie references and Cornelia's love of old time movies was charming as well.

The chapters alternate between the voices of Cornelia and Clare and it's easy to fall in love with both. It was a bit distracting that Cordelia's chapters were written in first person - like she was chatting directly with you - while Clare's chapters were third person. But once I got into the flow, it wasn't hard to follow. Clare is so lovable and her heartbreaking circumstances make you want to scoop her up in a big hug.

This was a perfect and relaxing fall read for me. I would highly recommend it.

This is just the kind of book one wants on a day off from work with a cough that won't die and when you're so sick of your couch you could scream. I adored every minute of this story. All the characters are the kind I want to be friends with - even the rather terrible and yet I think redeemable Martin who starts the whole story rolling. Cornelia and Clare are both delightful and heartbreaking surrounded by a wonderfully quirky cast of characters. I also loved the storytelling format; the chapters alternated between Cornelia and Clare and Cornelia's voice was delightful. I believe this was a recommendation from Modern Mrs. Darcy's event at the Bookshelf a few years back and it was spot on for me. Update - have my own copy now :-)

I liked this book, it was a nice change from the typical chick lit books I read. I enjoyed the different points of view and the writing was great. I heard good things about the book so I picked it up, I wasn't blown away but it was a nice light read.

I loved this book so much that I started to grieve when there was only a few chapters left. I'm a bookish, coffee-loving, coziness-desiring, holidays-adoring, childless woman who works in Philadelphia. The only thing I'm missing is being 85 lbs* (ha!) and having a love for old movies.

This book was like I called Marisa de los Santos up and said "tell me a story!"

Love Walked In has two protagonists and the chapters switch between them. Cornelia Brown is a (see above) woman who works at a quirky cafe in Philadelphia. She loves the dashing romances that appear in old movies. She narrates her chapters in first-person. Clare is 11, has moneyed parents, lives in a swanky Philadelphia suburb and attends a posh private school. Clare's life is falling apart in slow motion. She is smart, but not theatre-kid precocious. Clare's chapters are told in third-person.

And it's just ... beautiful. Laughter, tears, and love. Families of birth and families of choice. I'm going to buy a hard-copy of this so I can re-read it every Thanksgiving.

*We get it. She's tiny, so very tiny.
