this was just average. i don’t want to say it’s bad but i just didn’t care for the mcs or the plot really. this is definitely a book someone will enjoy, it just wasn’t for me!

If I could, this would be a 3.75-4.0 ⭐️ rating, closer to 4.0. I feel conflicted about this book, but I appreciate it for what it is. I feel like the characters were realistic and acted like nearly 18 y/os would, but that also left a lot of frustrating moments where I really wasn’t a fan of either of them. I think the book had some really cute parts, and is a good YA read. Anyone’s who’s seen my other reviews knows I’m not a big YA person, but I think this one was one of the better ones I’ve read recently. Overall, I had a good time reading this and it’s a quick read if you’re looking for this type of book - a romcom with a good amount of angst.

The premise of the book is really good. The characters sometimes felt very 2-d to me, but then later on it feels as though they begin to grow as people.
It’s a cute book if you want something light, but it’s not revolutionary. It is a cute wlw book & it deals with the struggles of being gay. I read it all in one sitting and I did enjoy it quite a bit.
I would have given this a high rating if the characters didn’t feel like they didn’t have any dimensions.
The characters made decisions that seniors in high school would make. But occasionally the decisions felt odd, or not like an actual 17/18 year old.

This is a sweet coming of age story. One out female is facing trouble with a previous school and what being out means for someone in athletics. The other is a pageant girl who works as a part time mechanic figuring out how she can let others in.

Their love story is full of roadblocks, some within their control, some within their circles. I’m glad most of the student body is relatively supportive of the LGBTQIA community (or at least the ones that the book focused on).
