This was such a great read. I loved it so much. Gale and Odette have my heart. I loved the plot, loved the characters, and loved everything in between.

This was an arranged marriage trope and I loved that Gale tries to first know Odette before marrying her. The way they get to know each other and become friends and have 2 am conversations, LOVED IT. It was such a slow burn but honestly I was so engrossed by the plot and the book itself, I didn’t even realise that they weren’t dating until the book ended and left me on the cliffhanger. And honestly slow burns sometimes bore me but this one, SO WELL DONE. I can’t wait to devour the second book.

Interesting turn of events

Odette and Gale are both trying to adjust to their reality. Odette is dead set against marriage because of how she saw her parent's failed marriage. Gale is hesitant about an arranged marriage but he has to do what the crown needs and that is secure Odette's hand in marriage to save the Ersovian monarchy. What they don't expect is to fall in love with each other and elope. But the newly married couple is thrown into a storm when certain events happen beyond their control. What will happen now? This story is getting better by the page.

NOTE This ebook was read using a Kindle in conjunction with listening to the story using Audible.com. I just loved the male narrator Shane East's voice. I could listen to him all day.
