: I received an ARC from Facebook but am leaving an honest and voluntary review :

If you dig bully romance then this book is a definite must read.
So much anger, lust and drama!

I was a little hesitant to read it, as I hadn't read The Bet but I needn't have worried as it reads great as a standalone.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first, the bet. It was a little bit more mystery as to what is going to happen and kept you on your feet more. Although, I just understand how someone can be so despicably mean to someone.

Ava just wants to be back with her mom and go to school. But life for her hasnt been easy. Moving back with her mom it is going to get even worse. Why ? Vance. The one person who use to be her best friend but now wants to make her life miserable. He will do whatever it takes to make sure she is not happy. But little does he realize it wasnt her fault. This book was amazing from beginning to end. Yes he does bully Ava but dont think for one minute she doesnt stay strong and try to fight back. I loved Ava and Vance together. Fighting or not these two have great chemistry. Another great book in this series.

The Dare by J.L. Beck & C. Hallman.
This is the second book to "The Bet" so overall i did enjoy it, however it felt very similar to the first book, minus a few things. So I feel like I wasn't as on edge this round. Would I recommend it? Sure! But I do just wish there were less similarities, but i guess with bully romances you can only do so much!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I was glad I did. The bully romance can be tough to get the balance right, but this was spot on. I loved the vengeful tactics vance subjected ava too. The Lies and misconceptions ripped the young friends apart only to destroy themselves in the present as young adults. This is the second book in this series ,so I can't wait to go back to start with book one, as the side characters show there is more hate to love to explore.

Vance is even more stupid than Remmy.
Why these boys hold gruges from their childhood ? The fuck is wrong with them ?
Don't get me started on the parents who are sociopaths. Parents are bad > boys become bully and manwhores / girls are weak, shy as mouses and have daddy issues. What a clever plot TO WRITE IN TWO BOOKS.
The heroine is pathetic and the authors are playing a dangerous and irresponsible game: writing that the girls from this series find pleasure when the boys forced themselves on them is so fucking vile. Yes you can still be a victim of sexual abuse even if your body seems to find pleasure. You don't always control your body. But that doesn't mean it's ok to sexually assault people. Jesus.
