This book was awesome! i just learned that they had made a movie out of it. I saw it, it was interesting wasn't at all that bad. This book is about a 14 yrs. old kid who's uncle die supposedly in a car accident. Curious Alex Rider investigates and finds his uncle was shot. Through-out the book he tries to figure out who killed him and why. Brilliant storyline. I loved the whole series, rather unpredictable. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, spy's, and mystery.

Hmm. Efficient rather than compelling. My 9yo has gone through seven of them in two weeks so clearly Horowitz is doing something very right. But I'm uneasy with the stereotypical treatment of race - the villain is a thinly disguised Al Fayed caricature, for example.

This book is kind-of like books I've read, it's just this one didn't hit right. Maybe if read it at a different time, when I don't have as many books I want to read, I'll like it better.
Graphic: Murder
Moderate: Death
Minor: Death of parent
