I read this book slowly so I didn't have to wait too long for Batman to come out, I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had read it at one go. I didn't, but I enjoyed the book.

Thanks to SLJ for a review copy of this book.

Wonder Woman starts out as Diana, Princess of the Amazons. Diana is trying to prove herself a warrior, but when she finally gets the chance, she blows it and instead breaks Amazon law to save a mortal, Alia. Diana and Alia become allies and face various enemies – both mortal and divine, but they must be careful or they’ll destroy everything they’re tying to save in the process.

DC comics has always been my favorite universe. I grew up on the Timmverse, so it was amazing to visit Wonder Woman in a new light. The media I've seen doesn't discuss much of Themyscira's origin or how the Amazon's came to be. This was a treat to learn about! The beginning of the story was slow, but towards the middle, it really picks up. I listened to this one through the Libby app with Mozhan Marno as the narrator. Her voice sounds so much like Diana, it was easy to get immersed into the story. I'm excited to see what the rest of the series holds for some of my favorite characters!

Fun adventure. The ending felt a bit rushed, but still generally satisfying.

They say warbringer a lot, but never WW

I really enjoyed this book! Bardugo always writes a compelling story and this one is no exception. I’ve always loved Wonder Woman stories so this was an obvious read for me. Action packed and full of intrigue and twists. Highly recommend.

As a fan of Wonder Woman, I really loved this. Diana is on an Island filled with Amazon warriors, but compared to them she feels untested and unworthy of her place there, so when she saves Alia and sets off a chain of events that may destroy her island, her fellow Amazons, and the world, she sets of on a quest to bring an end to the Warbringer line. I loved the friendship between Diana and Alia, it was complex and well developed. I loved all the greek mythology and the storytelling. I liked this Diana too. She's only just discovering what she's capable of, and she's discovering what she stands for. I feel like it was left quite open, and I'd happily read a sequel.

Overall, a brilliant start to the DC Icons series, I hope Batman is just as good!
