I think there’s something interesting going on in this book but I just didn’t care.

This is a really well thought out and written book! It has themes of character growth, found family, magical realism, and time travel. The time splitting concepts were mind boggling to me....my constantly tired brain couldn't quite get everything to line up. I loved so much about this book, but there were also parts that seemed very boring. Pacing is on the slow side and it was hard to get into. Read it on the slow side if needed, but it's a great one!

A Story That Will Stay With You For A While!

What an unusual and brilliant story! I wasn’t sure about this, but other reviewers made me curious. I hated The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, so when it was compared to that it seemed like a book I wouldn’t enjoy. I really think comparing books can be detrimental to drawing in readers. But after some reviewers talked differently about it, I thought maybe I should give it a try.

I’m glad I did!! This story is AMAZING!! I was pulled in quickly by June’s character. She felt very real and relatable, and at the same time very complex. Her growth throughout the story showed her strength and love. The mystery was intriguing as we follow June on her quest for the truth.

I loved this and it will be a while before I shake it off. June and her family will stay with me for a while. I highly recommend you give this story a chance.

4.5

Was sceptical about this one as it's not my usual genre but it was a nice surprise.
The writing is quite beautiful: filled with nice metaphors and imagery and with lots of little details that make the scenes more vivid and real.
I was intrigued almost right away and throughout the story I was curious to know more as the mystery unfolded.
There was one thing that annoyed me though: most of the story revolves around the fact that everyone is keeping something from her and in some cases it's not clear the reason, except to create the situation for the story to unfold. In the end some of it is explained but I still think that some of the things they were keeping from her did not make sense.
I was still able to enjoy the story despite this issue and in the end I was satisfied with how it ended.
