We have an lead who is an unnecessary genius who doesn't use her brains once.

We have a manipulative male lead who doesn't do anything decent in the book at all.

We have everyone doing stupid things without any real consequence.

This book took me back to Red Card (the book that made me a Carrie Aarons fan). Asher was so cocky and such a tosser but it was hard not to love him when we got to hear his inner monologue and know what his actions were costing him.

PRIVILEGED gives readers an inside view of the posh, private school set of the royal, aristocracy and wealthy of England. These kids are brash, ballsy, over-indulged and quickly fall in line behind their leader Asher Frederick. But when American Nora Randolph lands on Asher's radar you have to wonder if his devious plans will bring him all that his hopes to gain.

Nora and Asher appear like a case of opposites attracting. But as the story moves along we discover a hidden depth to Asher. The veil of douchebaggery that he wears most of the time slips away with Nora and what we get is the beginnings of the man he should have grown into had he not been poisoned by life as a Frederick.

This was a fun weekend read. It's was hard to put down and made me a little sad when I got to the final paragraph in the epilogue.

Wow, this story blew me away. Filled with glitz, glamour, heartache, love, and secrets. This is my first story by Carrie Aarons and I have to say, I am so glad I read this book. The teenagers in this book are petty, rich, spoiled and rotten. Nora, an unsuspecting "dirty" American is looked on as a peasant by the leaders of the school higharcy ruled by Asher Frederick.
Asher is put in the position of using Nora to get what he wants. While the story might seemed a little far fetched to normal every day people. Sadly I really do believe kids like this are out there. My heart hurt for Nora, knowing what she was going through, and that is the sign of a great writer. I will for sure be reading this authors other books. The story was told in alternating views.

A typical YA novel.

Asher was the bad boy rich Brit and Nora the newcomer whose mother is going to marry a Royal.

I enjoyed the connection between Nora and her mothers.

Its so rare to read books where mother and daughter are actually friends and love each other. I was glad that despite all the changes in her life, Nora supported her mother and had a good relationship with her moms fiancee.

I thought the portrayal of the rich Britts was believable. Asher and his "friends" who weren't actually friends but rather allies and enemies.

I would have liked Asher to have more depth. He had the attitude and sneer down pat, but other than that, was mostly a filler. The chapters from his POV helped understand him but you could see he wasn't as smart as he thought.

The revenge plot was poorly executed. The reasoning behind the need for revenge might have worked in an historical novel, but lack conviction in this case.

I admired Nora and her mother in taking the time to consider their option after a secret is revealed.

Nora forgiving Asher is a given, but she took the time to analyze her emotions and and Asher's actions before deciding to give him a second chance.

I liked seeing them together again, not making plans , just living life like regular teens.

Love love love!!

4.5/5 for this wonderful story!
I'm in love. This was such a great read, and I can't wait to read more by this author! Nora and Asher were well built, deep characters, the story was great and even mostly realistic. The two things I had the most trouble with was that I would have liked to have seen a little more Asher and Dad relationship so that part of the story didn't seem so abrupt, rather than so much inner monologue of Asher. The second thing, this is 2017. There's no way Nora knows about who Jon Snow is but doesn't understand how orgasms work. That was the one sticking point that really pulled me out of the story.
