Knew it. What super busy doctor is gonna take their small amount of free time in a busy work day to get coffee for a patient’s friend? A doctor who is into said friend.

This was an unexpected ride. I can’t say I loved it. But it made me hurt and it made me cry, so 4 stars.

The writing is a bit robotic. I’m not sure if that’s a deliberate choice for Dannie’s character or if that’s just how the author writes. There’s a lot of added detail that seems pointless. Like when they’re in an Uber after the first round of chemo and Bella throws up, when the driver hands them a tissue box Dannie notes that it has clouds on it. Nothing that really adds to the scene, just “it was blue with clouds.” Or something basic like that. There’s all kinds of these little statements and they don’t feel pertinent to the scenes.

You go in thinking this will be some epic love story, and it is but it’s the story of Dannie and Bella. The men are just the sideline piece. The extra bit to add some conflict.

The story itself is brilliant. Like the concept and how it ends. Brilliant. I just wish it was less robotic writing.

I’m not gonna go gushing about it to everyone who lets me, but I also wouldn’t tell anyone to not read it.

It's easy to believe from the cover that this is going to be a love story full of weddings and happy endings, but this is a love story like no other.

It's so beautiful and heartfelt, the writing really draws you in, and I flew through this one. I was so invested in the characters and their lives that I almost didn't want to come back to reality.

This story brings out all the feels, so you may want some tissues handy just in case.

Okay I finished this in a frenzy last night and I'm irrationally mad about the whole thing. This is a little bit my fault and a little bit the author's fault. But the long and short of it is that I feel like I've been strung along, mislead to think this was a different genre of story altogether.
***Spoilers beyond this point***

This book is framed as a romance, the time flash forward element gives the idea it might even be a bit whimsical. This book was anything but. There was no real romance, despite the author continuously dropping hints that this man and the MC would end up as a couple. What this book actually was: a walk to remember, but they're adults and it reads from the perspective of the third wheel.

It wasn't /bad/. It just was not the emotional rollercoaster I thought I'd signed up for.

this book was definitely a twist. I started reading it when it was first published back in 2020, but it didn't grab me at all, i reread it and it was okay, SO for that i give it 3 stars.
