The plot and artwork were decent, but the character dynamics between Dick and Damian were what kept me invested in each issue. Dick taking on Batman and balancing his version of the Dark Knight while being himself was interesting, especially with him also dealing with an aggressive 10-year-old Damian. I mean, Damian in this volume has to be in contention for one of the most feisty characters of all time.

Read somewhere online that this book was David Lynch-like, and it's definitely grotesque and weird in that way. For a casual reader of the Batman comics, this was an enjoyable departure from a typical Batman story.

So I’m really hit or miss for this one, on one hand it’s cool and fun, on the other there are some really boring parts I didn’t enjoy.

Batman reborn: this is the best arc I think in this book simply because of the way grant Morrison writes professor pyg; how he makes him so horrifying and I usually don’t react often to a comic but I had myself saying “jeez” and “gross” during this because he’s so weird.

The revenge of the red hood: I didn’t really like this one and I’ll say it now I could not take red hood seriously when he had his mask on because he looks like a penis, yes I know it’s immature but when you realize it once it gets stuck in your head.

Overall cool book.
