Michelle speaks so openly about hopes and frustrations and accomplishments, in a way presidents themselves can't. I appreciated hearing how she struggled to hold to her own core values despite lots of pressures to change priorities. She continually reminded the reader to know themselves, and that they belong wherever they are, and wherever they are aspiring to.

Loved this book. I always thought highly of this woman but reading her book really reminded me of why I like her so much. We miss you Michelle!

I liked the casual conversational style of the storytelling, and her honesty, though she was still keeping much private and hidden, as much of her story involves family who are alive and she is providing privacy to, and it made some things feel partially told. It also felt like the book was designed to be . . . palatable and . . . well received . . . by the widest possible audience, so the social criticisms and systemic racial analysis that she names or alludes to in the Becoming documentary are not as fleshed out in the book.

my father's favorite car was also the buick electra 225. we're all pretty much the same, aren't we? Michelle Obama is a dynamite woman and a dynamite writer!

THIS is grace, in book form. I have such a deep admiration for Michelle Obama, and even more so after reading this lovely, candid and honest autobiography. She, and her story, is what the world needs now.

Hard to read given the current state of our government. The Obamas are both amazingly thoughtful, intelligent, and hard-working. This memoir is inspiring yet sobering.

As you can see, I am a much slower listener than a reader, but it was wonderful to have her read to me. I plan to read the book in the future.

She is awesome and inspiring with a huge heart. I loved the chapters on her youth and growing up in Chicago, and especially loved her meet-cute with Barack and the descriptions of him and their relationship. So real and personal.

"Am I good enough? Yes, I am."

I loved this book, especially the early stages of her life in 'Becoming Me'. Some of her stories felt so personal and relatable that they could have been mine. I love her honesty throughout the book - including her doubts regarding Barack. Their story is not make-believe and I appreciated her sharing it.
