This book is set in 2014 as well as looking back to 1950s Tenby, Wales. It is more of a light holiday read but with plenty of story and detailed characters. It did draw me in and very quickly and I too wanted to move to Tenby and reinvent my life. The descriptions of the area and characters were very well done leaving you wanting to know more.

Loved the book.

I was recently in Wales on holiday, so when I saw this book was set in Wales I wanted to read it. I guessed the ending, but really enjoyed the two plots unravelling, the connections between the stories, and the development of the relationships.

A slow starter which took me a while to get into but once I’d got half way through the story I couldn’t put it down.
The story drew me in and I really liked the characters and wanted them to have happy endings.  It was warm and beautifully written,

I am from Wales and have been to Tenby many times. It is a lovely place and the beaches are beautiful! It made me laugh though when, in this book, the weather there was nearly always sunny and warm! In my experience of living more than 50 years in Wales it rains more often than not!! Anyway back to the book... I have read and enjoyed ms Rees' books before and was looking forward to enjoying this especially as it is set in Wales. I did enjoy it and I liked the two timelines. It reminds me why I would hate to live in a big city like London!

It was good but hard to get into a bit. Nora's parts were kinda boring to me and I just didn't connect to the characters at all. But I liked Chloe's parts. I would've enjoyed it more if the whole book was from her POV.
