After taking a break from the series this was much more bearable, though the story is still the same as each book has been. But I'm too much of a completionist

This one felt like it dragged a little to me. Still plenty of action, excitement, and good and creepy times, but I feel like it lacked a bit. This book mostly centers on one day and I guess I would've liked a little less detail all in one day. I would've preferred that it was stretched out. It's still a great addition that goes with their story well and there are finally some answers, but I'm glad to be moving on to the next (and final! Yay!) book.

The evil Taksidian continues his assault on the King family in order to gain control of their house and the mysterious portals it holds. The Kings continue in their search for their mother, and discover a few secrets along the way - secrets about why the portals exist and how they work. As the brothers jump from time to time, they end up in a very unexpected place.....and the book ends. Gah!!!!! Good thing I have the next one handy. I highly recommend that you don't start unless you have them all nearby.

This book was so so good. So action packed and fast paced it was really hard to put down and I loved every minute.

This books are really fun and I wished that I had read them a lot sooner than I have. These books were amazing and I really have a fun time reading them.

The things that the author puts the family in is always dangerous but some how some way they always manage to figure out a way not to get killed and fight back to save each other from the things that they go through. It is hard imagine that all that they go through is only a week long. It seems a lot longer than it actually is. It seems a month until they point out that it has only been a week. That is part of what makes these books fast paced is because it makes you think that it has been a lot longer because of all the things that happen and them surviving the house and the people out to get them but then you realize that it has only been a little over a week.

They have been through so much and you hope that they will make it through the different things that they go through.

I really enjoy them the more I read and I knew that I am going to miss the adventure that they go on and just the characters when I get to the final book because they grow on you since book one.

It was such a fun read.

Siendo la continuación de la saga que tanto ansiaba... esperaba más. Quizás una segunda releída lo mejore.

The first few books seemed all over the place, and I wasn't sure if I was even going to finish the series. Glad I kept going. This book is really starting to tighten things up, giving us an idea of what the heck is actually going on while leaving enough questions unanswered that I am definitely looking forward to seeing how this wraps up. I'm enjoying the mixture of history and fantasy as well, though some of the characters fall a little flat. Whirlwind is definitely titled appropriately. It was a fast-paced and exciting read. I'm hoping the last installment doesn't disappoint!

I do wonder how they are all going to get appropriate medical care when all is said and done. Can't really go to a standard hospital with all of those injuries... Probably showing my age here, being all mother-hen at a fictional character in a YA book, but the compound injuries David sustains really pulled me out of the story a few times. Poor kiddo.
