ARC REVIEW: A Terrible Love by Marata Eros

Caliber SEAL: FANTASTIC READ

Final Verdict: One hell of a page-turner. The twists and turns this book takes leaves you drained. Yep, that good!

I'm sorry but this is one of the worst books I've ever read. The writing made no sense the conversations were weird and don't make sense either. Her friend Carlie was in it way to much and the "plot twist" at the end was so blatantly obvious through out the whole story. She hardly had any romance with Cas and claimed she was in love with him. The climax of the story was lame and uneventful. I often times had to reread sentences to understand what the reader was trying to say. Overall this story was very disappointing and harshly put, very stupid.

A little darker romance then I'm used too but thought it was a good place to start. I'm surprised on how much I ended up enjoying this. A good balance of angst, suspense and romance!

This one had such strong potential but it fell completely flat. The writing style was disjointed and seemed to jump from scene to scene...even if the scene we were just in left you hanging.

I felt bad for the heroine, Jess/Jewel, but more times than not, it seemed like she was encouraging trouble to come find her rather than moving forward in her life. One prime example...the door knob on her dorm room was broken and it was taken campus maintenance forever to fix it. So if you were on the run because of something horrible your stepbrother did, would you let a broken doorknob go? Hell no!!! And that is one example of Jess/Jewel doing things that just made it hard to feel sorry for her.

Then here was Cas. He wanted her, claimed it was just for sex, and basically treated her like dirt. Then we find out who he really is and what his feelings are and the two Cas' don't mesh at all. I get that his job required a certain amount of acting, but at some point (especially given how long he'd been doing his job) you'd think it's be pretty hard to put on the dickhead act and not make your feelings know.

I'm bummed this wasn't the edge of your seat book that it had the potential to be.

** Books 219 - 2014 **

It was like a bad episode of Criminal Minds from the victim's perspective.

What I liked
The cover
The storyline--the idea a little problem with execution but i thought solid story.
The dancing
Brad- where did he go?
Carlie
Jewell-sometimes
Cas- sometimes

What i didn't like
For someone hiding she was sure clueless
Having four guys obsessed with her and she is not a little suspicious.
She has a job but doesn't work.
The HEA came out of nowhere...it was awkward and weird. i wanted more.
I didn't understand the motivation behind some of Jewell's decisions...This is where i had a little problem with the storyline.
there were a few other things but i don't want to spoil it for everyone.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first taste of Romantic Suspense with hints of erotica. The author weaved a tale that was so great I couldn't stop turning the pages. The romance was believable and it wasn't filled with the N/A angst that is going around in books. The plot was amazing although I would have liked a little more back story into the family and what caused all of the turmoil. The sex in this book was hot and steamy and thats why I threw in the hints of erotica.
