I came for the stories and stayed for the recipes! I do wish that each contributor had been given more space to write about their experiences. I appreciate that the chefs chose recipes that are simple enough for the average person to reproduce; they don't require expensive specialized equipment or a slew of difficult-to-obtain ingredients. My only complaint with the recipes is that almost none of them were free of meat or dairy products, even the "vegetarian" section. Even so, I bookmarked a number of them I am going to use in the future.

A cookbook full of a diverse variety of recipes with fun, queer stories attached.

I low key loved this book. It's basically 200 pages of either gay men talking about how they first ate this recipe off of their boyfriends glistening pectorals and it's just a freaking recipe for party mix or garlic bean dip OR it's lesbians saying they love their wife over and over again and they make this extremely complicated recipe to show thier wife how much they love her (and then they mention how much they love their wife once more just in case).

However there are somehow THREE different recipes for what is essentially grapefruit salad and it just baffled me.

It popped out at me at the library when I was looking for vegan cookbooks and although there wasn’t a whole lot that I could eat or even easily adapt to be vegan, I really loved reading each of their stories about what food or a particular recipe meant to them, particularly as it relates to queer identity.
