So love the direction this storyline is taking. It's a long game but things are finally starting to come together. The motives of the characters are not entirely known and it's anyone's guess who is good and who is bad, if those terms even meant anything.

If this were a novel I'd feel shorted for not getting a fully story in each compilation but this is different. It's meant to be read as a whole. If you liked the old Wildstorm books, you'll probably enjoy this, especially with Warren Ellis at the helm. However, if you can't handle the slow burn you may not.

Sure enough, the characters and world-building Ellis is doing here - with characters and a world he's dealt with before, of course - are getting better and better. Sci-fi espionage war + a touch of magic.

The longer this storyline goes, the more complicated it gets. However, Ellis is a fascinating writer and the entire creative team for this series works well. These are great characters set against a complex and engaging plot. It's a lot to keep track of at times, but "The Wild Storm" is well-told and well-worth the read.

There are a couple of characters whose motivation I still find confusing and this is Ellis in familiar territory with his secret cold War and secret histories and unscratched potential because powerful entities are collecting all of the resources for nothing. So, Planetary.

But pretty damn good, yo ho.

Often found it a struggle to keep straight whose who and which side is which faction, good vs bad, etc? Yes, there is no black and white and that seems intentional but I can't even recall which person is with which other.

Hoping that it comes together in the last two books and getting excited to continue to see members of The Authority make appearances. I think it would have helped if I had read more than just The Authority prior to moving in.

The art is wonderful though especially the stylized violence... I know that's terrible.

The plot remains convoluted , but the action sells it . Man does it just . Wow.

The action in this is just John Wick plus more gore and it's awesome . Having not ever read the previous incarnation of the title , the origin , motivation , or anything related to the characters is largely unknown , and yet it's a very captivating tale , that keeps me wanting for more .

Basically , awesome action, superb art style and a fascinating convoluted plot ... It's a definite recommendation
