I think this is the only time I've said this: the movie was better 😅 Growing up, a friend and I were obsessed with the movie Rose Hill and watched it all the time. It wasn't until recently that I realized it was based on a book, so I decided to read it. The book wasn't my cup of tea (I would categorize it as a Western romance - the setting is the "wild West" of Montana in the 1870s, but heavy on the romance: descriptive sex scenes) and wasn't particularly well written. I guess nothing can beat the nostalgia of watching that movie in my growing up years. Although the movie definitely changed a lot of things and left out a bunch of the book, so they do feel a little bit like separate entities besides the main premise of four orphan boys raising a young girl out in the wild west of America in the late 1800s.
Graphic: Sexism and Sexual content
Moderate: Racial slurs and Racism
Minor: Domestic abuse
