When I started this book I had mixed feelings but by the 4th short story I was transported back to Daevabad and the wonderful characters. There are certain stories that make you want to plead with the author to write just one more book or maybe another triology or another 3 trilogies. There is a big part of you that wants to dive straight back into the Daevabad Trilogy and it is all because of tiny glimpses into the lives past, present and future of the cast of wonderful characters.

There’s nothing particularly new here (no sliding doors, here’s how it could have gone down moments), but I thoroughly enjoyed getting back into the Daevabad world and characters. And it definitely made me want to reread them all. The different POVs were great, and I wish they’d managed to make their way into the main trilogy, as the secondary characters are just as interesting as the main trio.

I absolutely loved being back in the world of the Daevabad trilogy. I appreciated how much backstory and insight we got into the characters and the world with each story included. Chakraborty's writing is just so beautiful and these characters, you can tell, mean a great deal to her. I loved this and cannot wait for the new series to start early this year!
