Hm. That is definitely a book.

I have to say that for me this book isn't...bad.
It's interesting and, as best as I can say, it has some experimental aspects to it (like refusing to tie up, or rather even stick with, narrative threads), it touches upon some fascinating and important topics, it manages to get in the head of a variety of different people from different lived realities...

But unfortunately it didn't really manage to land for me.
Maybe it's just not my genre, maybe the wife and husband and kids had too much of a "standard issue relatable people"(TM) feel to them, maybe it's the way narrative threads kept being dropped in their entirety, maybe it's the writing style (ok, it's probably all these things), but this book didn't really manage to interest or impress me, nor was it some kind of huge revelation about people, life or such.

"Power corrupts, privilege blinds, emotions are complicated, life kinda sucks and bounded ethicality is the reality of practically everyone alive to some degree; also the situation in Israel is fucked"
Yea, I think that's basically the core of the book.

It's not a bad book, it's just not for me and I've made the decision to rate at least partially based on my personal opinion.
