I felt that this book was just about the same as the other Sookie novels. Nothing special, but still a decent story. I had to laugh when she needed a separate phone line for the internet and she packed up her portable CD player. Haha Nothing like flashing back to the past there.

(Rating closer to a 2.5 rather than a 5).

I honestly don't have much to say about this one! It was pretty good, but it didn't have as much romance as I would have liked.

Selah is such bi*ch and I hope Bill gets rid of her - I don't appreciate her harassing Sookie

The queen orchestrating the deaths of the Arkansas vamps wasn't that surprising and I'm shocked that Sookie didn't even consider that possibility.

I still don't really trust Quinn but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I found most of this book to be rather boring. The ending was probably the best thing about this, but not good enough to make up for the beginning.

If you start the series, you should just read 1-4 and then quit. You'll be disappointed by the later books, but the first four are good and worth reading.

I'm not sure what happened here, but this installment just wasn't that interesting.

I'm beyond the point in the series where I can convince myself that Sookie has a personality, but I've still managed to enjoy most of them.

This one featured Eric more than any of the books besides the fourth one, but Quinn and Bill were mixed in too. I remember liking Quinn before but Sookie's non comittal lack of interest in everyone for more than a chapter made it seem pointless. I very much doubt he's the end game.

Also, I'm a bit bored of the minutia. I don't care how Sookie or Amelia clean their homes. The book is about supernatural beings, why wouldn't the author focus more on that? I can clean my own house in real life, I can't hang out with the undead.

shamefully bad. not even trashy bad in the way some of the previous books were. this is just "Woman, you have NO talent bad!" Frankly someone should break into this lady's house and take all her writing implements away. The story is uninspired and I just stopped caring about all the characters. For all the show's flaws, I'd really rather watch it. At least there the people know how to put grammatically correct sentences together.

For me, the series ends here.

I encourage those people who hold these books up as their favorites to gather some courage, buy a good dictionary, and pick up something intelligent.

I think this book was definitely one of the best of this series. I still can't stand Quinn, and I just want Sookie and Eric to get together already! The summit was different than I expected. I thought it was pretty funny that it was basically a big conference with vendors and everything. I was surprised by who was behind the murders. Maybe I'm dense, but I didn't see that coming. I loved that Barry was back, and he had more confidence in himself. I think they should bring in more telepaths. I guess they're pretty rare, though. I wish I could fit this book into the Summer Book Challenge, but I just can't figure out how. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to complete the challenge at this point, but it's still fun.

Not sure how I feel about this book. It might be because I read the series not in order, so I missed 2 books before this one? But... it just seemed ridiculous. Fairy-blood in Sookie... Vampire conventions... exploding hotels... I just feel like if I saw this in the show or in a movie I'd expect it to be a parody.
